Welcome back to E³ (E-cubed).

Today we have a really cool expression. To have a way with something, to have a way with someone, to have a way with something, a great expression. So, what is it mean, to have a way with something means to have a method, to have a connection with something. So, a great example would be to have a way with kids, some people have a way with kids, little kids, and the idea is: when they meet children, the kids love them and the kids listen. For me, I do not have a way with children. Kids are afraid of me. Kids are scared of me. They listen to me, but they don’t really like me. They’re afraid. I’m a scared guy. It might be the little gray beard, I don’t know what it is. When it comes to animals, I have a way with animals. I don’t have a way with kids. I do not have a way with women, but I do have a way with animals. Animals love me, all kinds of animals. From spiders to tigers! Really!

I have a way with students. I have a way with teaching English. I have a method, a good method and effective method, a positive method that works with something. To have a way with somebody, to have a way with something, to have a way with animals, to have a way with plants. So, what about you? What do you have a way with? My sister had a way with my mom, oh, my dad. My dad was always listened to my sister. Whatever she wanted he would let her have it. Me? I have a way with my mom. Hoje, temos uma expressão muito legal. Ter jeito com alguma coisa, ter jeito com alguém, ter jeito com alguma coisa, uma grande expressão. Então, o que essa expressão quer dizer, ter jeito com algo significa ter um método, ter uma conexão com alguma coisa. Assim, um grande exemplo seria ter jeito com crianças, algumas pessoas têm jeito com crianças, crianças pequenas, e a idéia é: quando eles ficam com as crianças, as crianças os adoram e as crianças escutam. Eu, eu não tenho jeito com crianças. As crianças têm medo de mim. As crianças estão com medo de mim. Elas me ouvem, mas elas realmente não gostam de mim. Elas estão com medo. Eu sou um cara que assusta. Pode ser a pequena barba grisalha, eu não sei o que é. Quando se trata de animais, eu tenho jeito com animais. Eu não tenho jeito com crianças. Eu não tenho jeito com as mulheres, mas eu tenho jeito com animais. Os animais me adoram, todos os tipos de animais. De aranhas a tigres! Sério!
